BCDSA Member Scholarship Program

PURPOSE

The BCDSA awards two (2) $1,000 scholarships annually to members and immediate family members of BCDSA based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and an expressed interest in pursuing Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees.

CRITERIA

Students must be enrolled in an accredited college.  Consideration will be given to academic achievement, financial need and the student’s community service record.  Students should submit a scholarship application on the form provided by the BCDSA.

GUIDELINES

Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and funds disbursed equally at the beginning of Fall and Spring semesters.  Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours, continue to attend classes and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

DISBURSEMENT

Each scholarship awarded will be $1,000 to be paid at the beginning of Fall and Spring school semesters. Awardees will have to provide proof of registration for each semester.

RENEWABILITY

This scholarship is non-renewable.  The scholarship must be applied for annually.  The same recipient may be awarded the scholarship more than once provided there are no other qualified applicants.

DEADLINE

Due to the late posting of the application form, the current 2022 Spring semester deadline will be March 15th, 2022
